Macao AMARAL Metal Structures & Curtain Walls Project of Turnabouts & Corridors Rebuilding is a large-scale glass & metal structure project featured of unique modeling, special materials and strict technical requirements. It mainly consists of two portions. The first portion is a petallike modeling constructed by 316L stainless steel with the inner & outer surfaces covered with toughened PVB-interlayer glass which consist of 2 patches of TIP01, TIP02 and TIP03 respectively, 4 patches of TIP04, 1 patch of TIP05, 8 patches of TIP06 totaling 19 patches. Plus the support trusses in the middle, the metal structure weighed about 300 tons and the total glass area reaches about 5,100M2. The second portion is the corridors rebuilding that consists of 1,030 tons of S275 Steel Structures, 4,000m2 aluminum Curtain Walls, 4,250m2 glass Curtain Walls and 1,720m2 glass stage.
3. Features of Steel Structures & Curtain Walls Project
Curtain Walls project is contracted by the General Contractor with the main materials at the Owner (the investor)’s choice. The design is to be verified by Macao designers. The complicated design of the metal structure and the period requirement of the field operation require strict plant preparations. The examination period of the Customs must be taken into account in introducing field operators, equipment and materials. The local standards referenced in the designing & operating of this project have grinding-in period with China National Standards.
