Good afternoon everyone.It’s an honor to speak here.My name is Sara from BengBu Anhui Provience,and my major is Welding.Today,I’d like to talk about the Additive Manufacturing technology and it’s impacts on engeering industry.In 2014,a car named Strady was born and shocked the whole world.Because it was the first additive manufactured car.Different from traditional car,it has only 4o parts and takes only 40 hours to produce.Saved lots of time,materials and workers,how convient! With the desire for high-tech,we believe that additive manufacturing technology can promot the development of engineering industry.By presenting an overview of concept,market share and advantages,I hope to give you a better understanding of AM technology.

So,what is additive manufacture?It is also known as 3D printing.Let take the laser print for example.Workers set up 3D model,then a mathematical system analysises 3D model and get 2D datas of each layer,including size and material.The printer spreads powder on the platform,then laser clads the selected area.Once a single layer is completed,the platform lows,make room for the next layer,more powder leave on the platform and laser clads the selected area again.Like this,layer by layer,until the part is completed.

Additive manufacturing technology is called the third Industry Revolution by western economic.Look at these charts,until 2015,the AM Technology of global market scaled up nearly 1 billion dollars,and is expected to reach 21.2 billion dollars in 2020.And it’s application is mainly in engineering industry,including aerospace,motor vehicles,machine an so on.

Weight is an important point in Aerospace.Low weight can reduce fuel.The European Aerospace Defense and Space Company used AM technology to produce the cab hinge bracket of Airbus A320.reduced weight of 35%-55%,and the plan was 10kg lighter.For a company has 600 commercial aircrafts, if each plan weight 1kg less,it means 90 thousand Liter fuel can be saved,and 230t CO2 can be reduced.You know,the fuel accounts 1/3 of all expenditure of an aerospace company.They can save lots of money.

The utilization of traditional manufacture is low,for complex parts,it is no more than 10%,which leads to high cost and long production time.However,the utilization of AM technology is more than 60%.For example,the Lockheed Martin Company produced an exhaust leak detection equipment by AM technology,increased its material utilization from 3% to 98%. Most important,we can produce high performance parts without mold, Shorten the production process greatly.

Of course,the additive manufacturing technology will inspire your imagination.Without the trouble of making complex structure mold,you can print colorful things with different materials.No wonder people can get these.(picture)
